FREE Transportation Number Sense Activity Mat

The Transportation Number Sense Activity Mat helps children understand that there are different ways to represent numbers.

That is the first step in number recognition of more complex representations such as tallies, drawings, maps, graphs, pictographs, bar graphs, tables and more!

The mat is hands on and encourages success. Simply count the vehicles on each card and find its corresponding number.

  • Matching numbers to sets of objects

Activity Includes: 1 number sense mat, and 10 vehicle card tiles

Here’s how to engage with this activity:

Print the number sense mat, and individual cards on cardstock. Cut out each card and laminate for added durability

Instruct the child to count the vehicles on the card tiles, and then identify and match the number of vehicles with the correct number on the mat. 

Pro Tip! Attach velcro pieces on the number sense mat and the vehicle card tiles for easy application.
