Printable Strawberry Themed Activities
Strawberries and pineapples are my favorite fruits! But strawberries have become my favorite printable activity fruit! They seem to be just as luring on paper as they are freshly washed.
Remember how important it is for our learners to get excited about engaging and learning? The more hands-on the activities, the more they ‘invite’ our learners, then the more we can engage and work on specific skills in a fun way.
Sweet ABC Letter Puzzles
Simple yet effective! One of my favorite teacher mantras.
These puzzles will allow your learner work on letter recognition, problem solving, and visual discrimination. A reference sheet is included in case your learner is having difficulty putting the puzzles together.
Alpha- Berry Match Cards!
Now that your learner has worked through the alpha puzzles, the next suitable activity would be one in which they can work on matching upper case and lower case letters.
Instruct your learner to match the strawberries and the milkshakes based on their letters. This activity can also be used to work on letter sequencing.
Sing the alphabet as you line up the cards in order. Don’t forget to also say the sound of the letter as you work through the activity.
I love alpha match cards because they are so versatile! Use in a sensory bin, line them for sequencing, or place the around the environment for a scavenger hunt or ‘write the room’ activity.
Strawberry Milkshake Beginning Sound Match
The next step would be to start connecting your learner’s letter recognition skills with their phonological awareness!
Use these yummy yummy milkshakes to work on recognizing beginning sounds.
Fine Motor Practice
Need to work on enhancing fine motor skills? Help bring the strawberry and the milkshake together with these fine motor cards.
12 cards included!
Strawberry Playdough Cards
The play dough cards bring fine motor, number recognition, letter recognition together! Upper and lowercase letters, and numbers 1-10 included.
Strawberry Jars
The jars are super cute! And there’s multiple ways to engage in this activity too!
If you are using the empty jar, pick a flower and fill the jar with the appropriate amount fo strawberries.
Or you can use the filled jars, which have up to 10 strawberries, and use the flowers to indicate how much more to add. It all depends on the your learners skills and what you want to work on.
For some of my learners I introduce simple subtraction. Using the empty jar, simply:
- Pick a flower and fill the jar
- Now pick a smaller number and subtract that amount of strawberries.
Until your learner is comfortable, this version of the activity will require guidance. But you’re learner will pick up determining the quantity, and number representation quicker than you think!
