I always recommend that you print on cardstock and laminate for durability and future use. So while there will be some prep time include, once everything is prepped, you’re good to go! You will have all your activities ready for this spring, and others!

Count & Clip Flower’s
This activity is perfect for working on one-to-one correspondence and number recognition. Simply instruct your learn to count the amount of flowers then clip a clothespin on the correct number. If you don’t have clothespins, then you can use bingo dabbers, or have your learner circle the answer.
Flip & Find
Do your learners need more practice with number recognition? Then this activity is perfect! The prep for this is super easy and simple! Once printed and laminated, attached the number cards to a binder ring, and voila! Ready to go.
Simply instruct your learners to flip one of the cards and find it on the 100 chart. Continue playing until all the numbers on the 100 chart have been identified.
Spring Theme Rainbow Printable Activity
Do you see those magical rainbows in the blue skies?? This beautiful printable activity is a complement to the petals and bugs we see in the other activities.
Can your learner match up the number words and ten frames? These rainbows include numbers 1 – 20. and will challenge your learners number recognition and visual discrimination skills.
Make A Bug Equation!
Let’s make bug equations! This activity is paired well with any kind of manipulative, but if you have bug erasers that will make it even more amazing! There are two set of equations available, each labelled A – J.
The first set includes completed 10 frames and your learner will simply have to determine the number represented in the frame and record the equation on Make An Equation Recording Sheet.
Looking for more of a challenge? On the second set, only one ten frame is completed, and the other is blank. Your learner will have to figure out how much is needed to complete the blank ten frame, and then record the answer on the recording sheet.
This activity is great for challenging and growing with your learners skills.
Spring Theme Number Activities
Bugs Number Sense Mat
Number sense is an important skill for developing number recognition of more complex structures like graphs, tallies, maps, and more.
Instruct the learner to count the bugs on the individual cards, and then identify and match that number with the correct number on the mat.
This activity is so versatile as it allows your learner to practice so other many vital skills: counting, matching, sorting, and comparing.
Pro Tip! Use Velcro circles on the mat and the individual pieces for ease of application.
Playdough Cards
Who doesn’t love playdough?? Use these cards to help your learner practice making numbers in a hands-on way. Roll, bend, curve, and flatten the playdough to make numbers 1 – 10.
How Many More to Make Ten!
Petals & Bugs! Can your learner add more to make either 10 bugs or 10 bunches of flowers?! Simply count how many bugs or flowers are already pictured in the ten frame, and then determine how many more are needed to make 10! Pin the correct answer with a clothespin.
Pro Tip! With the blank card that has been included, have your learner create their own version of Make 10 Bugs Cards!
Pick A Bug
This activity is perfect for math centers in a kindergarten room, a sensory bin in a preschool classroom, or any other learning environment.
This game is hands-on and allows learners to practice all kinds of number sense skills. Simply instruct your learner to pick a bug, use their finger to trace the number, and then fill then ten frame to match the number.
Number Match Printable Activity
This is one of my favorite activities because of how versatile it can be! These spring theme printable number cards include: numbers, number words, tally marks, and dominoes. This activity will keep your learner busy busy busy… all while laughing and learning!
As you can see, the cards with numbers and the cards with number words also match in pictures. I did this to make sure that some of the cards are self-correcting for younger learners.
There are so many ways to implement this activity. Here are just a few:
- Match all the same numbers together – numbers, number words, tally marks, and dominoes
- Place the number cards in numerical order from 1 – 20.
- Skip count with the number cards.
Petals & Bugs Counting Mat Spring Theme Printable Activity
This activity includes beautiful flowers and cute little bugs! It will also give your learner a chance to work on number recognition, and one-to-one correspondence with either numbers 1 – 10 or 1 – 20. Both options are included so that the activity will meet and challenge your learners skills.
Instruct your learner to choose a picture, then identify the number, and the number word card, before completing the ten or twenty frame to match.
Spring Theme Pattern Cards
In this activity, your learner will spring into patterns and increase their patterning skills, specifically, their ability to predict what comes next.
Instruct your learner to find the last tile that completes the pattern. All the images on the pattern cards are included. To make the activity more challenging, add all the cards. Or, you can choose to only add the correct tiles that complete the cards.
Pro Tip! Attach Velcro pieces to the pattern tiles and pattern cards.
Matching Ten Frames Printable Activity
This activity is super fun, and will always you to focus in on what you need your learner to work on.
In this activity your learner will find the equation that is equal to the value in the ten frame. But I’ve added all the math equations that equal the values in the ten frames, and have separated them by addends so that you can focus on what you need your learner to work on.
For instance, are you working on teaching your learner that 2 + 6 equals the same value as 6 + 2? If so, add both cards. As your learner problem solves and works through the activity they will be able to see that these equations equal the same in value. Add math manipulatives to make the activity more hands-on.
Pro Tip! Print each page on a different color so you can easily organize them.
Skip Counting Bug Puzzles Spring Theme Activities
These spring theme activities wouldn’t be complete without some skip counting puzzles!
Puzzles are amazing and work on so many value skills! Skip counting activities helps with increasing a learner’s addition, subtraction, and will later help with multiplication and division… and even with counting money!
8 puzzles are included with all the other spring theme activities: skip count by 1s, skip count by 2s, skip count by 5s, and skip count by 10s. There are 4 sets of bug puzzles, and 4 sets of flower puzzles.
Counting Bugs in Jar Number Sense Printable Activity
This activity is hands-on and engaging.
The jars are represent numbers 1-20 in ten frames. Each jar will have two bugs that belong to it. Your learner will have to tap into those problem solving skills to determine which ones.
