School Bus Counting Activity!

The School Bus Counting Activity is a fun and interactive way for your learner to get excited about numbers.

Specific Skills Developed Throughout Activity:

• One – to – one correspondence as the children count out the appropriate pieces; 
• Number recognition and awareness as the children associate the abstract number with the concrete number; 
• Memory recall as the children count out the pieces in numerical order.  

Activity Includes: 1 Place Card, 20 Number Cards

How to engage with this activity:

• Print the school bus on cardstock, and cut out each number card;
• Laminate all pieces for added durability;
• Attach velcro pieces on the back of the number cards and on the bus.

Place a number card on the bus, and instruct the children to fill the school bus with the same amount as the number on the card.

As the children progress in skill, have them use two different kinds of manipulates to form the number.

Pro Tip! The bus can be filled with a variety of fun items! Some include: 

• Counting Bears 
• Math Link Cubes 
• Pencils 
• Fun Erasers 
• Markers 
• Crayons
