Description
Ideal Age: Kindergarten | Grade One
Instructions:
- Print the task cards on cardstock and laminate for durability;
- Cut out each card and attach each set with a binder ring;
- Instruct your learn to build the image on the task card. Complete a card as an example.
- To assess for understanding, instruct your learning to complete the ‘Summer Time Patterns’ recording sheet.
- To extend the activity, ask your learner to identify and describe the shapes. Also, encourage them to look for smaller shapes within larger shapes.
- There are three levels of difficulty included:
- 1. Colored: learners can use the colors as a guide
- 2. Black and white outline: learners will have to identify each shape in order to complete the patterns.
- 3. Shadow: learners will have to use their problem solving skills to determine which blocks to use to complete the pattern.
