Pond Frog Counting Puzzles
Did I mention how great puzzles are? The best way to make learning fun and interesting is to make it interactive, ad puzzles are a great way to achieve this! Plus, it helps little learners to further develop their problem solving skills.
Give your learner added practice counting to determine quantity. Instruct your learner to match the sets of frogs with the correct number. As your learner completes this activity they will be making more-or-less comparisons, as they compare the sets.
Includes: puzzles 1 -10
Froggy Number Line
This activity reinforces your learner’s ability to count forwards and backwards. With consistent practice and variation with other activities, they will soon be able to complete simple number operations.
The activity includes 2 individual number lines, and a large number line with a math sentence. With the individual number line cards, instruct your learner to pick a ‘start’ card, then either a ‘jump’ or ‘jump back’ card. Use the ‘jump’ cards to practice counting forward, and the ‘jump back’ cards for counting backwards or subtraction.
When your learner is ready, use the larger mat and work on creating simple math sentences.
Pro Tip! Don’t move up too quickly! We want learning to be fun and engaging. If you move up too quickly before your learner is ready, it will do more harm than good as your learner will begin to doubt their abilities.
Froggy Shape Match
Froggy Shape Fun helps your learner identify two-dimensional shapes. Flip all the shape tiles face down, or place some in a sensory bin. As your learner chooses a tile, they must find the frog with the matching shape. During the activity ask your learner to verbally identify the shapes
Pro Tip! Use velcro pieces for easy application
Includes: 9 shape cards, 27 shape tiles
Pond Frog Alphabet & Number Sequencing
As they engage with this alphabet and number sequencing activity, your learner will develop their ability to problem solve, count forward, and place letters in order.
Each sequence card includes one number or letter. Instruct your learner to find the lily pad that represents the number or letter that comes before and after.
Pro Tip! To assist your learner, encourage them to say the sequence out loud. For instance for a the number card with the number ‘, your learner would start at 1 and continue, 1, 2, 3. For added assistance, lay out the cards in order for your learner to see and refer to.
Even if your learner is able to count forward or say the alphabet with ease, this activity may be challenging for some. It will force your learner to first identify what letter or word they see, and then attempt to recall the letter/number before and after. This is why verbally saying the sequences out loud will help!
Be patience, have fun, and don’t proceed until they are ready for the challenge!
Also! Use velcro pieces for easy application.
Includes: 24 alphabet sequence cards, 8 number sequence cards, 36 sequence tiles, 4 blank tiles.
