These free beginning sounds clip or cover cards are perfect for phonological and phonemic awareness.
Phonemic awareness is your learners ability to manipulate individual sounds. In this post, I talk about learning to read and the two most powerful predictors of early reading success.
Printable Beginning Sound Activity
These cards are simple to use. While working closely with your learner have them identify each image, and then stress the beginning sound of that image.
For instance, Apple /a/, /a/, apple. Or Tub. /t/, /t/, tub. Once they find an image that begins with the letter in the center of the card, then they can clip, cover, or even dab the image. Simple, yet effective!

This resource looks awesome but I am having trouble downloading it. There is not a clear download here button or a form to complete to receive download. I tried subscribing but resource was not delivered to my inbox. Looking forward to using this resource with my almost 3 year old at home. Thanks

Very disappointing 🙁
Willing to pay if it’s needed, but just couldn’t find the file for this resource from the SHOP (I went through every single pages) and nothing has arrived in my mailbox too even though I subscribed. Don’t understand why they need to put FREE on heading when it is not free and cannot find the source!
